Ensley Park Improvement Project
Thank you for taking interest in our local community! The Village of Howard City has partnered with Tri County Schools to install playground equipment, increase usability, and provide an fitness outlet within Ensley Park in downtown Howard City. Edgerton Upper Elementary of the Tri County School System is located near Ensley Park and utilizes the playground equipment on a daily basis. The school property does not contain a playground area and it is important to provide area children with a recreational outlet. Our goal is to raise $65,000 to provide for the following improvements to our community: · A 40’ by 60’ area will be excavated within Ensley Park to allow for the installation of new playground structure. The area will be lined with treated wood and will be filled with a rubberized play material. · A 10’ wide asphalt fitness path will be constructed around Ensley Park. The path will be approximately 1/3 of a mile in length and will provide a clean and safe environment for walkers and rollerbladers to exercise. The path will also be plowed for winter use. These improvements will provide the local community with a new, safe and inviting playground facility. The Fitness Path will also serve to improve the health and physical well being of area users of all ages by providing an area to walk, run, bike, rollerblade or even skate. The Village has agreed to keep the fitness path plowed in the winter to allow residents to stay active all year! Our community partnership would appreciate any financial or in kind services that you could provide to this initiative. This informational packet provides information about the project and how you can participate! Sincerely, Mark E Rambo James Scholten Howard City Manager Tri County Superintendent
