HISTORICAL SOCIETY

HC-Depot-1800s-150x150.jpg

The Howard City Area Historical Society meetings are held the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. The meetings are held in the Howard City Village Council Room. Everyone is welcome to attend.
We ask everyone who has old photos to please share them with us so that we may preserve our history before more of them are lost. They may be left at the Reynolds Township Library or with the Historical Society. Leave them with your name and phone number; and we will return them to you as soon as they can be copied. If  you need help, please call Don Bauman at 231-937-5648.
Some of the pictures we are looking for are: Railroad Water Tower, World War II memorial that was in the park next to the Library, Rice family farm and house, Grange Halls, Tiffs Corners, Ensley Center, Amble Creamery, Wood Lake sawmill and ice house, Coral sawmill and creamery, potato warehouses along the railroad in Howard City, area Sawmills, and hundreds more. There were at least three dams on the Tamarack Creek; do you have a picture of any of these?
